Sayyeda Salam, Partnerships & Philanthropy Director

Sayyeda Salam, Partnerships & Philanthropy Director, Save the ChildrenSayyeda builds relationships with philanthropists and corporate partnerships to grow the impact of investments for children. She joined Save the Children in 2008 in the Major Giving Team and became Director of Partnerships and Philanthropy in December 2016.

Before joining Save the Children, Sayyeda co-founded OneVoice Europe, a conflict resolution organisation in Israel and Palestine. She has degrees from the University of Cambridge and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Sayyeda co-ran Save the Children’s first development board, the EVERY ONE Campaign Board – raising £10 million over two years.

She is currently working with colleagues in Europe, the USA and the Middle East to build programmes which create a truly international experience for our philanthropists.

Helen D'Oyley, Deputy Philanthropy Director

Helen D'Oyley - Head of Major Giving and Trusts (maternity leave) in the Save the Children Philanthropy TeamHelen joined us in early 2011, having worked in international development for three years.

Her interests include HIV/AIDS and East and West Africa. She has previously volunteered at an HIV/AIDS orphanage in Kenya and taught English in Senegal.

Helen also has a keen interest in emergency situations and natural disasters and is passionate about the difference our Children’s Emergency Fund makes. 

Ellie Mcleod, Head of Special Events

Ellie McLeod, Save the Children Philanthropy team

Ellie leads the Special Events Team to deliver high profile fundraising and engaging stewardship events. She also manages the relationship with HRH The Princess Royal, President of Save the Children UK.

Following a career in prop making and design, and then in visual merchandising in retail, Ellie joined Save the Children in 2007. Ellie has held various roles in the Supporters and Communities and the Events teams before becoming the Head of Special Events in 2012. Since then, she has transformed the way the team deliver events and changed the way we work with philanthropists and high profile individuals to raise significant funds.
