For over five years now, Save the Children has been striving to address the abuse and exploitation of children in the six countries in the Mekong River basin in Southeast Asia. Here, thousands of children have been falling into the hands of exploitative individuals.

Mekong Youth Forum
In September 2007, children from the Mekong River basin met in Bangkok for a week-long intensive consultation on human trafficking. The forum gave young people the opportunity to discuss their views about human trafficking, while presenting some fresh ideas on how better to prevent the exploitation.
