Fair Play: Talking with children about prejudice and discrimination

This book offers practical help to parents in Northern Ireland on how to talk with children about prejudice and discrimination, and how to support children who are discriminated against.

This book gives parents advice on talking to children about prejudice and discrimination. It was jointly produced by Save the Children and Barnardo's Northern Ireland, and has been reprinted with the support of BBC Northern Ireland.

Fair Play has been written for parents and guardians of children in Northern Ireland and aims to:

  • increase our understanding of prejudice and discrimination in Northern Ireland and the ways they affect children
  • offer practical advice and guidance on how we can help and support children who are discriminated against
  • give us the confidence and skills to talk to our children about prejudice and discrimination.
