Running on Empty
They're the same age, 22. Both have children under two. Neither can afford to feed her children properly. Both rely on cash benefits. It's a shocking fact that today hunger still kills half the children under five who die each year.
Asemu and Dawn both receive cash benefits, which they use to buy essential food. We believe more families should have this opportunity, so we're lobbying donors to put money directly into the hands of poor families. These families can then buy exactly what food the need.
