Jane Willoughby, Tournament Organiser, ladies and mixed doubles:

Image of the Amida Hampton tennis tournament participants, who raised money for Save the Children"We held our Save the Children tournament at Amida Hampton on a gloriously sunny Wednesday morning in May.

The Club was kind enough to let us take over all 10 of the courts for the event and with 72 players taking part they were certainly put to full use.

When players weren't on court they made donations to try and "Beat the Coach"; purchased new kit (donations made to Save the Children); or just relaxed in the sun with friends old and new.

Prize giving took place while everyone sat in the sun on the patio enjoying a bbq lunch and Amida Racquets Manager Steve Cockell surprised us all with some fantastic cups and medals for the winners and runners up.

Although I am a very keen tennis player this was the first tennis tournament that I have organised.  It did take a lot of hard work, particularly on the day, but the fact that the event raised £3,789 for Save The Children and that the players enjoyed themselves so much that they would like to do it all again next year, makes every minute of it worthwhile.

I would recommend it to anyone!"
