Leave a legacy

Legacy pledges are vital to us: they make up almost one third of the donations we receive.

By leaving a gift in your will to Save the Children, you will help make a permanent difference to the lives of generations of children far into the future.

Will Aid: Make a will, make a difference

Will Aid is taking place in November 2008 and offers the opportunity to have a will professionally written by a solicitor, but instead of paying the solicitor, you can donate the fee the solicitor would normally charge to nine of the UK’s best loved charities (including Save the Children). This is a fantastic way for people to get their affairs in order and at the same time help others in need.

Whether or not you choose to leave a gift to the Save the Children, it’s important to keep an up-to-date will, to protect your loved ones and make sure your wishes are carried out.

Cost examples:

  • £1,000 pays to feed 100 children in a paediatric hospital for a month
  • £5,000 builds and equips a community crèche in Angola
  • £10,000 supports a year's work in North West India to help marginalised children get primary and pre-school education
  • £50,000 provides enough life-saving food for 2,500 severely malnourished children in Niger for 30 days - that's the average time that children need to spend in our feeding programme to be out of danger.
