Haiti earthquake appeal

Children are in desperate need after the worst earthquake to hit Haiti in 200 years — an enormous earthquake of 7.0 magnitude — struck the country. We’re saving children’s lives by providing shelter, clean water, food and medical assistance.

What your money could buy:

  • £20 — 3 tarpaulins or plastic sheets to provide basic shelter to protect families
  • £40 — 24 buckets to help families carry clean water
  • £50 - 21 mosquito kits to protect children from malaria
  • £500 — 20 student kits, containing notebooks, plastic water bottles, rucksacks and stationery
  • £1000 — 80 hygiene kits with essentials such as soap, detergent, toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • £5000 — shelter repair kits for 142 families whose homes have been damaged by the earthquake

All donations will go to the earthquake affected children and families in Haiti.

Gift Aid: Your donation could be worth more!

Gift Aid allows Save the Children to claim tax back from HMRC on all your donations. This means a donation of £10 could be worth an extra £2.50 to us, and it doesn't cost you a penny! Your additional support will help to fund the whole of Save the Children's work across the world.

Your donations are eligible for the scheme if you pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax the charity reclaims on your donations.
