So you’ve splashed the cash on heels that looked gorgeous in the shop window but are actually too high to walk in. And there’s that smart shirt you’re holding on to because you just know it’ll fit you once you’ve shed a few pounds. But if anything it’s getting tighter.
You know you’ll never wear them again. We’ve all done it.
Rather than festering in the back of your wardrobe, those neglected purchases could be given a glorious new lease of life — raising money for Save the Children’s global campaign EVERY ONE to save children’s lives.
What we need
Paul O’Grady is backing our campaign and urging his viewers to look through their cupboards to find a couple of items they don’t want any more. They may be the wrong size, colour or just not quite right. Let someone else love them. “Take five minutes to have a rummage through your wardrobe. Send us a few of your quality bits and bobs to help save children’s lives,” says Paul.
We’re are looking for men and women’s clothes, shoes, boots and accessories. From high street brands to top designer wear, in good resalable condition.
How to donate
Once you’ve identified the items you’d like to donate, please fill in this form (PDF) to let us know what price you think they should be sold for. Fill in your personal details so we can contact you once Paul’s campaign is over to say thanks and let you know how much you helped to raise.
Then, you can get your items to us by:
- dropping them into your nearest Save the Children shop. We’ve 125 shops across the country.
- posting them to us. Put them in strong packaging — a plastic bag or brown wrapping paper, for example — download this Freepost label (PDF), then send the parcel to the Freepost address along with your completed form (PDF). Please try to keep the weight of your parcel to less than 1kg to reduce postage costs. If you pay for postage you’re helping us to raise more money to save more children’s lives.
You can also get a whole group of people involved. Organise a D-Day (don’t dump, donate day) at your office (email d.day@savethechildren.org.uk to find out how), download a pack or email stockappeal@savethechildren.org.uk for more information.
