Comedians Lee Evans and Tony Grounds joined other runners supporting Save the Children at the London Marathon on Sunday, 25 April.
Lee and Tony have already raised £11,000 to support our work. "Who wouldn't want to help?" Lee said. "For the price of a cup of tea, you can save a child's life."
88-year-old Marjory Foyle also walked the marathon for us, starting on the Friday before and completing it on Saturday.
She said: "Apart from the traffic, it was a most wonderful time, balmy sun and cool breezes. I called in on a Save the Children shop at the end of Woolwich Road, and got a huge welcome.
"My legs ache a lot, but it was worth it. I am REALLY chuffed to have done it all in two days."
Runners have raised £33,000 for Save the Children so far. They hope to meet a target of £60,000.
Our runner Paul Gugge at the London Marathon. His band turned out to support him, so he joined them for an impromptu jam session during the race! Amazingly, he had already run 24 miles by this point ....

How you can make a difference and help save children’s lives
Thank you for your interest in taking part in an event and raising money for Save the Children. It’s always helpful to see just what your and your sponsors’ support can achieve. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference to vulnerable children, both in the UK and around the world.
- £10 could buy blankets to prevent five children catching pneumonia.
- £20 could buy a kit containing simple items to treat children suffering from diarrhoea.
- £50 could buy vaccinations to protect a class of 50 children from catching measles.
- £100 could buy a family a food basket that will last them a whole month.
