Global Children’s Charter
When the G20 met in London in April 2009, we delivered the demands of young people straight to the most influential world leaders. We collected hundreds of messages from young people across the world.
The statements below represented the final Children's Charter. Save the Children's marvellous Global Children's Panel — made up of 14 young people from Save the Children programmes in Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Liberia, Mongolia, South Africa, Wales and England — worked hard to whittle down the hundreds of statements to these powerful 12.
In the UK, the 5th Gourouck Guides wrote lots of statements as part of Girlguiding UK's Changing the World project in partnership with Save the Children. 12 of these were polled online and 3 were chosen to go in the final charter below.
