Homelessness

Persons subject to 'immigration control' (including asylum seekers) are not eligible for accommodation or assistance under the homelessness provisions in Part II of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 (Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 s 115). Asylum seekers' entitlement to emergency accommodation from NASS and under social work childcare and community care provisions is covered in the 'support for asylum seekers' section.
