For one night only, Mary’s Living & Giving Shop in Westborne Grove, west London, will be hosting an evening with Just Glass, who will be showcasing the works of internationally acclaimed and emerging glass artists.

The evening will be the only occasion in 2011, when this collection of beautiful jewellery, stylish vessels and unique sculptures will be exhibited and available for purchase.  A percentage of sales will go to our work

The ‘Just Glass at Mary’s Living & Giving’ event will take place on 6 July 2011 at Mary’s Living and Giving Shop in Westbourne Grove (6pm – 9pm).

Work on show will include cast glass pieces by internationally renowned artist Angela Thwaites and the intricate gilding of Frances Federer.

On the evening you will also have the opportunity to meet the artists firsthand, discuss the inspiration behind their collection, knowing that monies raised from your purchases will go towards saving a child’s life.

Chris Coe,  our retail director, said: “Save the Children are thrilled to play host to Just Glass at Mary’s Living & Giving Shop.

“They have personally handpicked the crème de la crème when it comes to talent, so I know there will be some fabulous pieces for sale.  This act of generosity says a lot about Just Glass, and for this we are truly grateful.

“It’s amazing to think that by shopping at Mary’s Living & Giving, you can make a real difference to a child’s life somewhere in the world.  This is the ultimate in guilt free shopping.”

There will be a raffle on the night, whereby one of the prizes will be complimentary tickets for two to the Figures & Fictions: Contemporary South African Photography at the Victoria & Albert Museu which runs until 17 July.

10 Days to GOOOO!

Friday 14 May 2010 by Rosie Shannon

Just ten days to go till Mary’s Living and Giving Shop for Save the Children opens in Westbourne Grove. This will be our first permanent shop in London.

Mary opened a shop for Save the Children in Stockbridge, Edinburgh last year. The shop is doing really well so, if you live near Edinburgh, don’t forget to pop in and see Barbara the fantastic shop manager and she would love to find a new home for your donations!

So Westbourne Grove opens on the 22nd May at 11am.

Start rummaging through your wardrobe now, remember, if you bring donations you get to skip the queue!

Wednesday 1 July 2009 by James Sheard

Post-Mary in Nottingham there seems to be a feeling that the whole show was just an elaborate trick of some broadcasting conjurer. “Is Orpington even a real place?” asks T. We have no map to prove him right or not. Yet if it had been made up I’m sure the BBC Marketing Department would have located it in a place with a far more creative name, perhaps Little-Takings-On-Sea?

Thank you for your question (see comment on previous blog)

There’s always a pang of fear when an outsider tries to change something you have a great deal of affection for. Will their skills set fit in a new and challenging environment? Will they be able to improve on the existing situation? Will the final result represent a new way forward?
