Nigerian children write messages to the government

Nigerian children write messages to the government

“Many lives are gone

Just because of more deadly diseases
malaria, HIV, cancer, fever.
To prevent all these diseases, every child should always sleep with mosquito net
Parent should always take care of us
the governemt should provide food, shelter and clean clothes for the children”
- writes Affiong Okon from a primary school in Abuja.

Today I have been visiting schools in Abuja, Nigeria with Denis Onoise, Child Protection Coordinator here. The children have been writing their messages for Government Ministers for delivery on the 16th June which is the Day of the African Child. I am inspired by what children have to say in Nigeria and what they are demanding, its up to us all to ensure we make this happen. Sign up to the Global Children’s Charter to support them.
