Thanks to the amazing generosity of staff and customers, Morrisons raised £7 million for Save the Children as part of our three year Raise a Smile partnership from April 2011 – February 2014.
Morrisons support has allowed Save the Children to completely transform the scale of our UK programmes and will leave a lasting legacy for many years to come.
Making a difference in Morrisons communities
By the end of 2014, Morrisons amazing support will have funded a total of 238 FAST cycles across all six Morrisons regions.
FAST brings families, schools and communities together to support disadvantaged children across the UK at a vital time in their development. Through strengthening these relationships, FAST helps to give the most disadvantaged children in the UK the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

In addition to continuing to support the FAST programme in 2013, Morrisons also raised vital funds for our Eat, Sleep, Learn, Play! (ESLP!) programme, helping even more of the most disadvantaged children in our communities.
Eat, Sleep, Learn, Play! helps families in the UK living in severe material deprivation to get the basic essentials they need for their children – a cooker to provide warm meals, a bed for a peaceful night’s sleep and books and toys to help children to learn and develop.
Uniting the business
Morrisons staff have been at the heart of our partnership from the very start. By taking on fundraising activities designed for the whole business to take part in, organising their own events and participating in Save the Children challenges, Morrisons staff worked together to achieve their goal of raising a phenomenal £7 million for our UK work by February 2014.
Bespoke partnership activity
We’ve produced bespoke fundraising activities for Morrisons, designed to unite staff across the business. Thousands of Morrisons colleagues have taken part - baking and selling cupcakes during the Great British Cupcake Sale and clocking up miles in the active Miles for Smiles challenge.
Their support has made this the biggest and most successful charity partnership Morrisons has ever had!
In addition to their support of our UK work, Morrisons have also been loyal supporters of our emergency appeals responding to the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami, the food crises in East and West Africa, the ongoing Syria Crisis and most recently, the Philippines Typhoon.
Through the support of our emergency appeals Morrisons have raised and incredible £720,000 helping to support those children in the most need around the world.
