Access to our information

We want you to be engaged and informed

We are committed to transparency and honesty about who we are and what we do.

We know that transparency means providing clear and relevant information about how we are structured and what we spend our income on, as well as making it easier for people to engage with our work and get in touch.

How we do this

  • We strive to be as open and transparent as possible by proactively sharing information and answering all requests for it.
  • This website is comprehensive and we have accessible public reports (including our Annual Report) that include timely, relevant and clear information.
  • Where possible, we look to present this information in languages, formats and media that can be accessed and understood by children and their communities, supporters, donors, partners and our staff and volunteers.
  • We will occasionally need to take into account the time and financial resources necessary to fulfil this commitment, particularly as we focus on delivering world-class programmes for children. We must also consider when there are reasons not to disclose information, such as the safety and confidentiality of our people, partners, and those we work to serve. However, we will always try to explain why we cannot share information.

For more information please see our Open Information Policy Statement.

Our Accountability and Transparency Report

Our annual Accountability and Transparency Report shares information on our activities with anyone who is interested in our work, from our supporters and partners to the communities that we serve. It also holds us responsible for success against the commitments we have made and allows us to consider the steps that we still need to take to become the most accountable and transparent organisation that we can be.

In sharing this information, we aim to:

  • Be accountable and transparent to the children and communities who benefit from our programmes and responses.
  • Be accountable and transparent to those who make Save the Children’s work possible, particularly our supporters, donors, staff, volunteers and partners.
  • Clearly explain our progress against commitments in areas such as accountability to children, child safeguarding, advocacy and campaigning, donation acceptance, supporter care, environmental impact and organisational governance.
